+++GREEN AWARD TESTING+++

The "Green Award" is awarded to software which:

* does not require installation
* does not write to the registry
* does not create or modify files outside of its own
directory

Testing for the above criteria was done as follows:

1. Use grep to return all apps whose listings
include the + symbol (+=no install necessary):
grep "+" *.html > filename.txt
http://www.interlog.com/~tcharron/grep.html

2. Take registry snapshots with RegShot before and
after testing each app:
http://regshot.ist.md/

3. Use the Windows "Find" function to locate newly
created/modified files:
Start -> Find -> Files or Folders -> Date ->
Modified/Created -> during the previous 1 day ->
Find Now.

Near completion of all testing, fileWATCH v3.30
(shareware) was discovered, which does an excellent
job of tracking the creation, modification, and
deletion of files:

The latest release is version 5, but it is larger
and requires Microsoft Windows Installer:

Suggestions on other approaches to step 3 are
welcome:

As a final note, *all* apps are checked for
dependencies using a PE (portable executable) dump
utility like PEBrowse or PEDUMP:
